Cole and I met at my family's ranch in west Texas. He was there from Fort Worth area to visit a friend and help work cattle that weekend and I was escaping from Dallas. We bonded over a love for both city and country and were immediately inseparable. Within the year we both took a leap of faith and took new jobs in West Texas.

In spring of 2014 he sent me to see Susan, Kat and Larry along with my sisters to look at rings. He said, "Go figure out what you like, tell your sisters and then forget about it!"

In November of 2014 we went with my family to Santa Fe, NM to spend Thanksgiving week. One morning Cole took me to the Four Seasons in the mountains for an early Birthday brunch. Afterwards we drove up into the National Forrest to take a Christmas picture ( or so I thought!) and when we got out we spent some time talking and taking in the view. Next thing I knew he was on one knee and I was crying tears of joy!

I am absolutely in love with my engagement ring and enjoyed the experience of going back to pick wedding bands with Larry and Kat!

They say ‘when you know, you know’.  Hutton and I knew about 2-3 months in that we were in love.  As we progressed into the spring of 2013 our love and relationship hit full stride, even with the fact that I was traveling weekly for work. The distance was challenging and Sunday nights were difficult, but between quality time on weekends and long phone conversations on weekdays, we were overcoming the obstacle well.

Hutton and I love to travel so we planned a trip for summer 2014 to Scotland and Italy. Hutton studied abroad in Edinburgh, Scotland.  While she was there she hiked a mountain that overlooks the city called Arthur’s Seat.  The location is a beautiful overlook for the entire city on one side and the Scottish countryside and ocean on the other.  I knew Arthur’s Seat was a sentimental place for Hutton as it’s a part of her testimony, so I decided it was the perfect spot for the proposal.

In the afternoon on June 29, 2014, we set out to hike Arthur’s Seat. After an hour hike, I asked Hutton to marry me as we sat overlooking the entire city. We talked about our lives, and love for each other and luckily she said yes – it was the perfect day.  After soaking in the moment for a while, we got up, tracked down the photographer I’d hired and captured several photos of the big moment around the mountain. A few days after the proposal, we met the Hipps family in Italy where we spent the next week and a half touring the country.

My wife and I met on a blind date. Two of our close friends introduced us. She was finishing school in Abilene and I had just been transferred there for work. I went on a family trip for her parents' anniversary to Maui last October.

When we were flying home, I looked over at her and knew I never wanted to travel with anyone else. She was more than I could have ever imagined in the girl of my dreams. She is beautiful, hard-working, thoughtful of others, and completely selfless.

We went on another family trip to California for her sister's graduation in June.  She wanted a picture of us together in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. Her mom, who was taking the photo, counted to three and I dropped down on one knee. She said yes! We were married July 31st at San Francisco City Hall on the 4th Floor North Balcony with 25 of our closest friends and family.  It was the perfect day with the perfect girl who knew she had the perfect ring.

The Proposal

Artie had planned a 10-day European trip through Italy and Spain over the summer of 2012. We were going to Venice, Rome, St.Tropez and Monaco! Night 1 we went to an amazing authentic Italian dinner in Venice and walked around Piazza San Marco. When we got back to our hotel, I was brushing my teeth and chatting away when I realized there was a shiny silver Rolex sitting on my pillow (also from Susan Robinson Jewelry). My immediate thought was that he probably felt bad that he wasn't going to propose so this would at least get him by for another few months (hehe). The next day he had set up a nice dinner for the 2 of us at one of our favorite places, Cipriani. As we walked out of our hotel for dinner, awaiting us was a gondola with a fancy bottle of champagne sitting on the boat. The gondolier took us through all of the canals in Venice. I could tell that Artie was starting to act a little strange. After about 20 minutes, as the sun was starting to set, he asked the gondolier if he could take a picture of us. As he handed the gondolier the camera, he got down on one knee and said "I've wanted to do this since the moment I met you...will you marry me?" Typical girl, I started crying and grabbed him for a big hug. After a few minutes of me blubbering he said "So, are you going to say yes??" I completely forgot to answer him! "YES YES YES!" It was the most romantic and unforgettable moment of my life. I could not have imagined a more perfect proposal.
